Serving individuals, youth, and families
You are on a remarkable journey. It is yours. Our work together will be a partnership in which we will close the distance between you and your dreams. By illuminating the things most important to you and discovering what constitutes YOUR perfect balance we will strengthen the very core of you. Together we will fill your coffers with the tools and treasures you need to get to where you want to be and remove the obstacles you find on your way.
Together, we will find ways to help you create a happy healthy family, nurture learning opportunities for you and your child, and clear the path toward your hopes and dreams for your child. Everything begins with what you are already doing right. I guarantee you, EVERY parent is doing a million things to support their child’s healthy development and that’s where we begin. We will shine the light on what’s working and then chart the course for the rest of your journey from there.
I see behavior challenges in children as skill deficits and opportunities to teach, grow, and learn. As guides, we have an opportunity to help them learn that there are more effective, efficient, and loving ways to get their needs met. Nurturing these skills, however, does not happen in a vacuum. Working with children means working with a family because parents are a child’s first and most important teachers and have a vital role in their story. As parents, you get to play the ultimate superhero, keeping them safe and saving the day.
Individuality, authenticity, curiosity, and discovery are the glorious hallmarks of this time. At times confusion, transition, self-doubt, and struggle of various kinds are the unfortunate companions. Developing self-identity, coping skills, and positive social support (in family and friends) are all integral to supporting the foundation for a healthy adolescence leading gracefully into adulthood. I work with youth individually and the family unit to make the most of these brief and full years.
I work with schools, agencies, and various professional organizations to develop professional clinical skills for working effectively with children and adolescents. I have experience training in effective behavior management for teachers and parents, assessment practices for clinicians, treatment planning, foster parenting, and clinical team problem-solving.
